My run and walk in the lakes today

Well I went out this morning to attempt to complete a marathon before then going out for a walk in the afternoon.
The run today took place on the roads and my word they have taken their toll on my legs and feet.
Unfortunately I didn’t manage to compete the marathon distance but did do 23.4 miles in 3 hours 50, the pain in my foot and calf was too much to continue.
I did manage the walk in the afternoon and added another 4 miles to it, so I grand total of 27.4 for the day and over 50000 steps.
Got to take the positives out of the run as its the furthest yet, but really wanted the marathon barrier gone, which I suppose it has with the walk.
Still need to reduce my speed by a hell I a lot, even when I walk for a little bit I still average 9.3 minute miles.
Thanks to Lizzie for bringing more food and drink out to meet me during the run.

May Stats

Here we are again, another month has flown by and it’s time for a run down on what I’ve managed to put myself through.
Overall a great month which has seen a massive increase in the distance covered both running and walking, but also lots more progress strength wise from the Crossfit workouts

Over the course of the month I managed to complete 14 runs and 11 walks

Covering: 149 miles an increase of 66 miles

Calories burnt: 21877 an increase of 11000

Plus 11 Crossfit sessions

My weight at the start of the month was 14 stone 5 lbs and today it’s 14 stone 7lbs but as I’ve weighed myself in the evening instead of the morning could be the reason for the change, my weight if fluctuating at the moment either above or below the 14 stone 5 mark, so all in all it’s still fine.

Overall a great month that has seen a huge step towards getting up to distance,

Next months aim on the running is to break the marathon barrier, (hopefully next week) and then increase the back to back runs, to get up near to 40 miles in 2 days plus get through 50+ in the week. I think I will have to reduce the Crossfit sessions till after the race to once a week, just to allow my body some time to rest, but knowing me that won’t happen

I can’t believe I’ve only got two more months are full training before I look to taper things off and rest before the big race.

My run to school this morning.

Managed to complete 13 miles and had the intention to run again tonight possibly another 7/8, but felt a slight niggle in the back of my knee when I started running, so for once decided to stop and walk home instead.
A little disappointed about not completing the 20 miles today, but with the walking I have completed this week I am near to my 40 miles for the week.

My Run home tonight.

Finally I made it through the 20 mile mark, really pleased with the distance and the time, but I did run out of drink and food. Which made the last 3 miles really hard.
I did stop after 14 miles, which was planned because in the race that’s the first food station and low and behold who should be driving over the hill at that point no other than rich. Really good to see a friendly face and to be able to steal some drink and food from him, so cheers mate for that.
The run i completed tonight is after walking to school this morning which is 1.79 miles and then teaching 4 lessons plus cricket at lunch, so really busy.
New record for steps in a day as well of 47500 and a calorie burn of 3900 for the run, which resulted in me losing 7lbs in weight, which proves how little fuel I took on board.

Overall happy days
